2014 was a banner year for
Killian James. After leaving his job at an accounting firm, he launched
career in adult entertainment. First, as an escort. Then,
after winning Best Bottom at the 2014 International
Escorts Awards, Rentboy’s answer to the Academy Awards, Killian
ventured into film.
“Winning ‘Best Bottom’ was a huge moment for me,” he recalls. “As
soon as I caught my breath, I began to
reconsider the film offers I had been receiving. It felt like the
right time to expand into something new within the
This summer, he became the newest addition to Randy Blue’s stable of
hot young studs. And that’s only the
beginning. Killian plans to really make waves in 2015. He
Charlie Rocafort: What will you remember most about 2014?
Killian James: I think finally being able to feel comfortable in my
skin. I was always so self-conscious before.
I often worried about the way I spoke and things like, ‘was that hand
gesture too gay?’. I forced myself to become
someone I wasn't and often didn’t feel an accepted part of the guy team
because I didn't tune into the Sunday night game.
C.R: What is the biggest lesson you learned?
K.J: I've learned to live in the moment, instead of obsessing over what
life might be like five years from now. I
realize now that it's what we're doing this second that really shapes
the future. It’s important to make every moment
count and do it big.
C.R: What were you most proud of this year?
K.J: Definitely winning The Hookie Award for Best Bottom. It came out
of nowhere. I had only been escorting for
about eight months at that point and I hadn’t done porn so no one
really knew who I was. Being recognized for working
hard and providing great service was really special.
C.R: What was the biggest change you made this year?
K.J: I now drink a gallon of water a day. My skin, hair and
energy levels have all improved immensely.
C.R: Were your nervous to jump into escorting?
K.J: Of course.
C.R: The first day at any job is hard. What was it like for you?
K.J: I didn't know what to expect, but it was exciting and I was hooked
from day one.
C.R: How did you climb up the Rentboy ladder so fast?
K.J: When I do something, I put in 110%. I started going to the gym
multiple times a day and scheduled shoots with top
photographers. I was also careful to rack as many positive
reviews as possible.
C.R: When did you realize you were playing in the big leagues? K.J:
When Manhunt Daily coined me as 2014's IT boy.
I had no idea anyone even knew who I was!
C.R: What makes you stand out from the rest of the guys?
K.J: I'm pretty much an open book. I live by the saying, "you're as
sick as your secrets". I prefer not to have any.
C.R: Is your calendar booked? Should guys expect to be put on a
waiting list when contacting you?
K.J: It varies on the week. I do my best to accommodate guys
as best as I can. If I can't meet at a certain time, I try my
best to find another time that works.
C.R: What’s something guys would be surprised to learn about Killian
K.J: They'll have to spend some private time with me. These
things are better explained in person.
C.R: How will you spend the holidays?
K.J: With my mom and sister. I have a small family, so time together is
C.R: What’s next for you in your life and career?
K.J: I’d like to break into reality T.V. I’m working on something right
C.R: Do tell!
K.J: It’s a little early to divulge. I’m not exactly sure where
it’s all going. But that’s the fun part! The mystery is
keeps me working hard, because you never know where life will take you
if you put yourself out into the world.
C.R: Who will you give your New Years kiss to?
K.J: Either Derek Crawford or my French Bulldog Wilbur. (Laughing) I'm
leaning towards Wilbur.
