Hugh Hunter

Tom Olah: How did you first get into porn?
Hugh Hunter: Porn was honestly something I always wanted to try, and I’m sure you hear that all the time.
Everyone who does it wanted to try it or they wouldn’t have submit applications to studios, right? The timing –
for me – never seemed quite right to make the plunge though. This past November, I finally decided the timing
was as good as it would ever get and decided to make the leap of faith into the world of XXX. I was single, had
a stable “day” career, and was feeling really comfortable and good about my body and age. So, why not? I figured
I might be lucky enough to do one or two scenes. I could at least say that I tried it then. Almost six months and a
dozen scenes later, I find myself really loving and embracing the industry and count myself incredibly lucky to
have gotten the opportunities I’ve been afforded. I’m even more grateful that I continue to get new opportunities
for work with new studios, directors and models.

T.O: I recently met you at the Grabbys and you seem to be in better shape than when I first saw you in Catch 22
from Titan Men. What is your workout routine like?
H.H: I didn’t think I looked all too bad on that first shoot, and I still don’t, but I didn’t look as good as I wanted
to look either. So the week I got home, I made some immediate changes to my workout and diet regimen. I weight
train six days a week for about 60-85 minutes a session. I stick to one body part each workout, doing chest and arms
twice a week. I never skip leg day. Never. Leg day is my favorite day. It builds your backside, and my backside has
quickly become a big part of my brand. I also do ab work every morning when I get up. Just about ten minutes a day
covers that. I eat six to seven meals a day totaling 5,000 calories, and that’s just to maintain my 230-pound frame. I
eat a very clean diet: No processed foods or prepackaged meals at all. I don’t do cheat meals; I can’t trust myself to
stop. I stay very close to a Paleo diet with the exception of cheese. I do eat white cheese – Parmesan, Romano, Ricotta,
etc. I’m Italian and I already gave up my bread and pasta, you can’t take my cheese away too. You just can’t.

T.O: Were you a naked kid growing up?
H.H: I suppose I was. I was always the kid who would take his pants off, and then run around with them on his head
instead. I did not like wearing pants, not at all. I suppose I still don’t. I now find myself being the adult who is running
around with his pants off though I know longer wear them on my head. I just leave them at home. They’re such a bother.

T.O: What was your first day on a porn set like?
H.H: I was so nervous when I walked on set. I didn’t quite know what to do or how to act or what was expected of me
(other than sex). It was all a bit scary. Luckily, I had Jesse Jackman as my partner who is so generous and giving on set,
the amazing Jasun Mark directing the scene, and another great cameraman and PA as well. Everyone was very supportive.
As soon as the cameras started rolling though, everything suddenly felt very natural to me, and all of that nervousness
immediately faded away. I think my old days in theatre, film, and TV just kicked in and those performer instincts all came
rushing back to me. Performing is performing, regardless of the type. I felt back at home.

T.O: Who was your first scene partner?
H.H: I really won the coin toss here. My first scenes partner, as stated previously, was Grabbys Manly Man 2015 Jesse
Jackman. I couldn’t ask for better. We shot the scene for TitanMen on December 8, 2014. It’s being released in July 2015.

T.O: Who is your dream scene partner and why?
H.H: I’ve been asked this question in interviews in the past, and each time I get asked it I seem to get cast with that performer
within weeks of me mentioning them. I said Trenton Ducati and then shot with him for Bound Gods, I said Denis Vega and
Flex and then shot with them for Menatplay, I said Rocco Steele and I’m shooting with him for Ray Dragon, etc. So now I’m
saying Billy Santoro. Are you listening, porn gods? First, because I’ve always thought he was such a handsome and sexy man
and is absolutely dynamite on camera. Second, because I think he’s one of the funniest men I’ve met in a while. I got to spend
some time with him at a few events over Grabbys weekend and I think we’d have a great time on set. So, Billy, as you can see,
I would never say I won’t work with you. [Laughs]

T.O: Do you feel you can do porn and still have someone special at home?
H.H: Yes, but I’ve not personally endeavored to try this yet. I’ve just ended a long-term relationship, and I’m taking a little time
to breathe, so I can’t speak from my own experience. However I look at the Santoros or Johnny V and Joey D or Jimmy Durano
and Christian Owens and I see that there are many happy couples in this industry. I’m guessing the key to being in a successful
relationship here is being open, truthful and understanding. But isn’t that the key of any successful partnership?

T.O: What did your friends say when they found out you were doing porn?
H.H: I only told a few select friends when I started, and those I told were very supportive. They know that I’m a “go big or stay
home” kind of guy and once I make a decision, I don’t back away – ever. For better or worse. [Laughs] I figured the rest would
find out on their own and I’d see how they reacted then. I’m still the same person so I don’t think it should really change anything.
Something I’ve noticed in the gay community is that a large number of gay men seem to look down on adult performers, sort of
like we’re not upstanding members of the community because we film sex, something most of them do too with their phones but
don’t get paid for (now that’s questionable, in my humble opinion). Now if you ask them who their favorite porn star is, they
all can name at least three, but yet they’ll still thumb their noses at the people working in the industry. It’s all a bit hypocritical.
I guess that might be why I didn’t make some broad announcement to my full circle of friends. If (and inevitably when) they find
out I’m doing porn, that tells me they’re probably watching it or they wouldn’t know. It’s harder – or at least it should be hard –
to condemn an activity that you’re participating in, even if you’re taking a passive role.

T.O: And your family?
H.H: The jury is still out on this one. Check back later.

T.O: What can we look forward to be seeing you in soon?
H.H: My third Menatplay scene should be released in June. The first scene I shot with Jesse Jackman for TitanMen is being released
in July. I’m filming for Falcon’s Fetish Force this upcoming weekend with Logan McCree, and then I’m filming two scenes with
(soon-to-be former dream partner) Rocco Steele for Ray Dragon in early June. There’s a number of other projects and appearances
being scheduled, so stay tuned for details.

T.O: Best way for your fans to keep up with all things Hugh Hunter?
H.H: I’m on Twitter at @HughHunterXXX and on Tumblr at

T.O: For selfish reasons, can we talk you into being on the GRAB Magazine float for Pride?
H.H: Yes! So long as my costume consists of nothing more than underwear and high tops. It’s quickly becoming my uniform. [Laughs]
